Small Things That Make Many Places Feel Like Home
We travel full time and typically move our tiny home on wheels every few weeks but these small things make the many different places feel like home.

Here are a few things that make the many different places we visit feel like home:
A library card. After a year on the road we learned that we could use our campground address to get a library card in Pacific City. We visited many libraries over the last year but hadn't been able to check out books. Bringing books home with us feels like an absolute luxury!
Museum memberships. When we know we will be visiting the same place more than once it is often worthwhile to invest in memberships to museums, zoos and aquariums. Last September we bought a membership to the High Desert Museum in Bend and visited ten times during our two stays there! We just recently bought a membership to Oregon Coast Aquarium since we are spending a month in Newport, OR this summer and will be up here again next summer.
Yoga classes. Attending the same yoga class multiple times while traveling is such a treat. I have found several fantastic yoga instructors while on the road and look forward to the predictability of a peaceful class in the same space with often the same group of people each week.
Annual state parks passes. We visit state parks a lot and since we spend several months in each of several different states it is usually worthwhile to have an annual state parks pass. While in Sedona, AZ we visited Red Rock State Park so often that the ranger at the entrance started to recognize us.
Homeschool groups. We have joined online homeschool groups for most of the places we visit and have attended meetups for several of the groups. We made some of our dearest friends through a homeschool group in California and now especially look forward to our visits on the central coast since we have good friends there now.
Homeschool classes and events. The boys have attended homeschool art classes several times as well as special "homeschool days" at local nature centers and state parks. This is a great way to meet local families and learn more about what an area has to offer.
Visits from family and friends. More than anything having friends and family visit us on the road, or getting to take our home to the places we have loved ones living, makes any place feel like home.
